The TNM runs on Texans who show up. You make sure we keep finding them.
The Director of Personnel owns how the TNM finds and keeps the people who run this movement. You identify the gaps on the National Leadership Team, recruit members to fill them, and make sure every new volunteer lands well and stays engaged. This is the role that makes every other role possible. Get it right and the movement grows faster than it loses people.
What you'd own
- Work with the Director of Operations and the broader National Leadership Team to identify open roles and define what each one needs.
- Promote open positions to the TNM membership base and actively recruit members who look like strong fits.
- Conduct video interviews over Zoom to screen and assess applicants.
- Shepherd new team members through onboarding so they understand where they fit and who they work with.
- Track open seats and pipeline status and report regularly to the Director of Operations.
What we're looking for
- Experience hiring, recruiting, or building volunteer teams, in any setting.
- Comfortable running structured interviews over video and giving honest assessments.
- Organized enough to track multiple candidates and open roles at the same time without things slipping.
- Strong belief in Texas independence and the TNM's mission.
- Able to represent the movement well to prospective volunteers.
The commitment
- Expect 5 to 10 hours per week, more during active hiring cycles.
- Must be available for regular coordination with the Director of Operations and National Leadership Team.
- Video interview availability during evenings or weekends is typical given the volunteer nature of the team.
